Contending for the Heart of America

The Cause USA, Summer 2008

America now stands at a holy crossroads.  Can you feel it? We believe that an open window of time to shift the heavens over this nation is upon us and the Church holds the key. Will we choose to be silent in these days, or raise our voice in worship and prayer and help set the course for the next generation? With the upcoming elections at hand, many are concerned over the state of affairs in this nation. Issues like the economy, overseas policy, the sanctity of marriage, and the right to life battle are vying for the attention of the American public.  All of these issues are signs that a greater fight is taking place below the surface.  God Almighty is contending for the heart of this nation, "For from the heart flows all of the issues of life."

In a recent meeting with our young intercessors at The Cause missions equipping base in Fort Mill, SC, the question was asked: "How do we best shift America back to God?"  The Lord came forth with a clear and strong word, saying, "What I am going to do is transform the heart of this nation."  This truth should be clear to every Christian:  The key to shifting this nation isn't reforming political policy, but reclaiming the heart of the people.  If a revival swept across this land that changed millions of hearts, justice would arise, adoptions would increase, abortion laws would be overturned - in short, the moral fabric of America would shift.

Last month we sent a van full of folks to Lakeland, FL to connect with what God is doing there.  Now that very flame has spread to the Morning Star facility right next door to our missions equipping base here in Fort Mill, SC. Over the last few weeks, thousands have attended meetings as God is pouring out His Spirit on young and old alike.  There is a Holy hunger rising in the people of God.  Our challenge in these days is to not limit our faith to what we see now. We believe that these are spiritual contractions preceding the birth of the coming move of God.  This coming wave can and will impact all who step into it by releasing a modern day renaissance in seven key mission fields (see the 7 mountain mandate at www.TheCauseUSA.com), releasing a kingdom movement into the earth.  There is momentum being gained in the spirit realm and we see God reviving His people, as mentioned in Ezra 9:9.  We also believe he is not just reviving the existing church, but also calling in the prodigals - releasing the sons and daughters into the destiny that all of creation has yearned for! 

In a recent meeting with Bob Jones he released a word regarding an open window for America from June 22 through July 22, 2008; indicating that 12 regions would be flash points for revival.  He said that this word would also be verified in the heavens.  So just as the three wise men in Matthew 2:2 interpreted the sign of their times, we began to ask for confirmation in the heavens.  Through research we found that there are two unique stars in the season of June 22 - July 22, and they have very interesting names.  One name means "the gathering of the masses" and the other means "the returning of sons from afar," or the prodigals.  Could it be that God is prophesying through the heavens that this summer He intends to release the gathering of the masses and the return of the prodigals to the Father's house?  Will we be the people whom the prophets prophesied of, who will stand in agreement with God for the heart of our nation?  Will we silence the voice of past disappointment, doubt, and fear, and release a roar of faith into the heavens?  All God is looking for is a heart that says, "Yes!"

For the past few summers God has had The Cause on the road for the summer.  Last year we acquired a mobile stage and traveled from Nashville to San Francisco on the God's Summer of Love Tour.  This year, we sense the call to break out the stage, and stand our ground here on our home turf of Fort Mill, SC, joining with what God is already doing on this property, and inviting those whom God would have join us for a total of 51 days of prayer Under Open Skies.  Will you join us, in spirit or in person, and plead Psalm 51 for 51 days, crying for mercy, a clean heart, and an open heaven over America during this critical window of time?

Our summer activities begin with...
Prepare the Skies track, June 1-21 ~ 21 days of consecration, elevation, and activation in preparation for the Under Open Skies gathering.
  Consecration: We'll be entering a fasted lifestyle, fasting meats, sweets, media and self, to press in to a greater revelation of the power of the cross.
Elevation: We'll be engaging in intense seasons of worship, adoration, and intercession for the full manifestation of God in the earth.
Activation:  We'll have instruction and impartation, coupled with evangelism, on-site intercession and prayer activism, and acts of compassion on the streets.
